Dental Implants

Dental implants are titanium posts that are surgically implanted into the jaw to restore a person's appearance or their ability to chew. They provide support for artificial teeth, such as crowns, bridges, or dentures. Dental implants can be an option if you have one or more missing permanent teeth. They’re made to look, feel, and function like your natural teeth. When properly cared for, dental implants can last a lifetime, making them one of the best investments for long-term tooth replacement. Call Horseshoe Dental today to schedule a consultation to see if dental implants are an option for you!

Cosmetic Dentistry

You can look good and have a healthy smile! Most people who are unhappy with the appearance of their teeth do not realize the numerous ways that cosmetic dentistry can heal a smile. Cosmetic dentistry can correct crooked teeth, spaces between your teeth, stained or discolored teeth, chipped, broken, or missing teeth, and “gummy” smiles. Horseshoe Dental creates a customized treatment plan just for you based on your age, your goals, and your financial comfort level.

Porcelain Veneers

Imagine a whiter, more brilliant smile! Porcelain veneers are a conservative cosmetic dentistry approach that makes a dramatic difference in the appearance of your teeth. If you have chipped teeth, crooked teeth, gaps in teeth, or dull, stained teeth, veneers may be the perfect solution for you. Horseshoe Dental will skillfully bond and shape thin strips of porcelain to your teeth, creating a straight, brilliant smile that enhances both your appearance and your self-esteem.

Tooth Whitening — At-Home & Zoom!®

Imagine removing surface stains and having the white smile you had when you were a teenager! Anyone can have the confidence that comes from having a bright, white smile. Tooth whitening with Zoom!™ is safe, effective, and long-lasting.
The Zoom!™ tooth whitening system is a powerful, in-office procedure that produces fast, dramatic results. Horseshoe Dental will apply a specialized gel to your teeth using a customized tray similar to a mouthpiece. The customized tray is comfortable, allowing you to hold it in place for about an hour. During that time, a specialized light source interacts with the gel to break up even the strongest stains and discoloration. By the end of your appointment, you will have a smile that looks like it did years ago!
There is also a Zoom!™ take-home whitening kit available. This do-it-yourself process can be completed over the weekend, and while the results are not as dramatic as those from the in-office procedure, you will still see noticeable, fantastic results. Talk with Horseshoe Dental for help in deciding what whitening procedure is right for you.

Porcelain Bridges

When teeth are missing, your smile undergoes significant changes. Missing teeth can cause you to chew differently and may also cause mouth pain. And, as your remaining teeth work to compensate for the loss, gaps, and spaces form that only make the situation worse. A porcelain bridge, custom designed by Horseshoe Dental, keeps your smile aligned and your bite functional. Bridges are anchored to existing teeth on either side of the missing tooth. They are semi-permanent (meaning they can only be affixed or removed by a dentist) and are a long-term restorative solution to your damaged smile.

Porcelain Crowns

You can erase years of wear and tear with porcelain crowns. Horseshoe Dental uses a tooth-like crown made of porcelain to restore your tooth after the decay has been removed. Crowns are also used to restore chipped teeth, broken teeth, gaps in teeth, and other damage. Also called “caps,” porcelain crowns mimic natural-looking teeth in both shape and color.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Are you embarrassed about your smile because of decayed, disfigured, or discolored teeth? If so, you may be a good candidate for composite resins, also known as tooth-colored fillings or restorations. When the decay has been removed from the tooth, it is replaced with “filling” material. The new tooth-colored material is bonded to the teeth for a stronger restoration. In the past, amalgam (silver) fillings were placed into the cleaned-out portion of the tooth. However, with new advancements in dentistry, you can now have tooth-colored fillings instead of silver fillings, resulting in a longer-lasting, brighter, whiter smile.

Bonding

Bonding refers to the placement of tooth-colored resin to correct chipped and broken teeth, discolored teeth, and, in some cases, space between teeth. Bonding is generally considered more conservative than veneers or other cosmetic dentistry. The benefits of bonding include the ability to maintain the natural structure of the tooth and the ability to color and sculpt the resin to create natural-looking teeth. Like a natural tooth, the resin may stain with the use of coffee or other staining foods.

Pediatric Dentistry

Here at Horseshoe Dental, we LOVE kiddos! You can trust that your children are in great hands! Do you know when your child’s dental care should begin? The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that the appearance of the first baby tooth is a good sign. For most babies, this occurs when they are between 6 months and 1 year of age. A simpler way to remember for your child is: first dental visit by first birthday. It’s important to remember that baby teeth serve as place-holders for adult teeth. If baby teeth are damaged, permanent teeth can grow in out of position, resulting in crowding and/or crooked.

Root Canal Therapy

Once infection or decay has reached the nerve of a tooth the nerve must be removed. Root canal therapy is one way to treat this problem. A root canal is a dental procedure to remove inflamed or infected pulp on the inside of the tooth which is then carefully cleaned and disinfected, then filled and sealed. Root canal treatment is designed to eliminate bacteria from the infected root canal, prevent reinfection of the tooth and save the natural tooth. A modern root canal is nothing like those old sayings! It's very similar to a routine filling and can usually be completed in one or two appointments, depending on the condition of your tooth and your personal circumstances. Getting a root canal is relatively painless and extremely effective. You'll be back to smiling, biting and chewing with ease in no time while still get to keep your natural tooth.

Tooth Extractions

Sometimes injury or decay extensively damages a tooth. And, in certain cases, extraction is the proper treatment option to start you on the path toward complete dental health. Horseshoe Dental will gently extract your troublesome tooth, giving you the treatment options for replacing that tooth and for completing your beautiful smile once again.

Removable

At Horseshoe Dental we offer full and partial denture options. A partial denture is designed to replace one or more missing teeth. It is sometimes a more affordable option for people who are missing several teeth but not all of their teeth. For one price, one appliance replaces all the missing teeth in that arch.
A full denture is an acrylic appliance that replaces ALL of your natural teeth in the arch. However, there are several limitations to removable appliances, including instability and resorption, or loss of jawbone.

Nightguards

A nightguard is a simple solution that protects your teeth and jaw from the harmful results of nighttime teeth grinding and clenching. Horseshoe Dental provides a custom-molded, plastic mouthguard to comfortably fit over your upper or lower teeth, creating a barrier between your teeth. The cushion of the nightguard between the teeth absorbs the force of teeth grinding. A nightguard reduces teeth clenching and grinding, as well as TMJ problems, by helping the jaw muscles relax. Finally, you may rest comfortably again!

Mouth Guards

If your child plays sports or other similar activities, mouth guards are a great way to protect their teeth from potential injury. They are easy to clean, come in many color combinations, and are custom-made to fit comfortably in your child’s mouth.

Nitrous Oxide

Do you or your child have dental anxiety? Horseshoe Dental offers “laughing gas” to help ease your mind during dental procedures. Nitrous oxide is a safe and effective method for sedation. Nitrous works quickly to relax patients, and the effects wear off quickly by breathing pure oxygen thru a mask. Nitrous oxide does not put you to sleep, so you can hear and respond to any of the dentist’s questions or instructions.

Snoring

If you or a loved one snores, you are likely aware that snoring often accompanies fitful sleep. Severe snoring may also be a sign of a more serious problem like sleep apnea. Sleep apnea occurs when an individual stops breathing for an extended period of time during sleep. Snoring happens when the soft palate relaxes to the point of cutting off the airway. Snore appliances are designed to comfortably hold the airway open during sleep. There are a wide variety of snore appliances available to you. Let Horseshoe Dental select the right one that fits your needs.

Digital Radiographs (X-Rays)

We offer digital radiographs (X-rays) that use less radiation and are safer for you than traditional film-based X-rays. Radiographs are a necessary diagnostic tool in the field of dentistry. More than half of each tooth is hidden and surrounded by bone, and the only way to truly evaluate the health of your teeth and the bone surrounding your teeth is through these necessary diagnostic radiographs. At Horseshoe Dental, we research the latest trends in technology to find the solutions that best promote your overall health, safety, and comfort.

Intraoral Cameras

Quit relying on the use of small mirrors and flashlights or pulling back your tender cheek to get a better look at your teeth! With an intraoral camera, you can see exactly what your dentist sees during treatment planning and dental procedures. You will have a greater understanding of both your oral health and our recommended treatments. Our dental team uses this technology to discuss treatment options with you, and they are happy to answer any questions you may have.

3D Printing

Considering the wide array of items that you would typically pay a lab to create we are able to create right here in house; such as aligners, surgical guides, models, night guards, and more. 3D printing involves 4 stages: digital scanning, designing (conversion of scans to printable work), printing, and the last stage is preparatory work to get the items ready for the patients.

CBCT

(cone beam computed tomography) is an incredibly detailed 3D image that can provide invaluable resources for accurate diagnosis and treatment with endodontics, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) analysis, airway evaluation, and dental implant planning. CBCT scans allow doctors to see difficult-to-reach structures, detect small anatomical problems, and make more accurate diagnoses.

CEREC

(Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics’) is an approach to creating dental restorations in office. We have everything from a digital intraoral scanner, a milling machine,
